The Load Bearing Company handles structural alterations, RSJ & steel installs and load-bearing wall removals — and supplies and builds steel shelters, canopies and steel-framed units. Engineered, approved and finished properly.

Engineer's design
A structural engineer specifies the beam, padstones and any columns. We arrange it, or work to your existing calculations.
Approvals
Building Regulations application to the council or a registered building control approver, plus party wall notices where needed.
Installation
Props and needles in first, masonry out, steel in on padstones, packed tight. The house is supported at every stage.
Sign-off
Building control inspect the bearings, the steel is fire-protected and the opening is left ready for plaster.

Do you arrange the structural engineer and building control?
Yes. We can arrange the structural calculations and the Building Regulations application as part of the job, or work to your existing engineer's design.
How quickly can you do a survey?
We usually offer a survey within a few working days. Send photos or drawings with your enquiry and we can often give a budget price the same day.
Do you build steel shelters and units as well as doing structural alterations?
Yes. Alongside RSJ installs and wall removals we supply and build steel shelters, canopies, covered yards and steel-framed units — groundworks, galvanised frame, cladding and doors, start to finish.
Do you work for builders as well as homeowners?
Yes — a large part of our work is fit-only steel installation for builders, kitchen fitters and loft conversion companies across the North West.
